Frisky Business is a female-run entertainment group in Austin, Texas focusing on a variety of performance arts including burlesque, cabaret, aerial arts, belly dance, vocal performance and much more. I worked with this troupe for 4 years as a production assistant underneath the company’s primary producer Gemmi Galactic. It was my duty to design flyers for our event productions, then translate that design into an overall branded style used to promote the event via social media. I additionally had the pleasure of designing the Frisky Business logo as well as a small collection of merchandise to sell at our shows. I was also commissioned to do a very quick and simple website where Gemmi could post information about the troupe and our upcoming performances as well as sell our merchandise online.
In addition to being the troupe’s in-house designer, I also got to provide creative direction on promotional photoshoots as well as direct choreography for a number of group ensembles that were performed at some of our shows in 2015 and 2016. It was a true pleasure being able to create something beautiful away from the computer screen for once. While I have recently resigned from my position with Frisky, I still absolutely adore this group and the beauty they bring to Austin stages. They will always be family to me and I am grateful for the work I got to produce with them!
