Hi There, My Name is Kianna!

I am a freelance web developer and graphic designer living in Austin, Texas. I specialize in brand styling, poster design, and custom theme development for WordPress.

I graduated in 2013 from St. Edward’s University with a Bachelor’s degree in graphic design. Shortly thereafter I began my career as a freelance designer/developer for hire. Over the past few years I have found a true passion for helping my clients to cultivate a solid web prescience enhanced by beautiful and cohesive design. I love to create visual works of art as much as I love to write code, and it is through these two skillsets that I aim to create unique user experiences that show off who my clients are to the world.

I’m not just another designer. I’m a problem solver with a passion for technology.

I began teaching myself how to write HTML and CSS at the young age of 12 years old. Back then, the internet was a very different place (and not as pretty either if I might say). I built my first website ever using the infamous Yahoo! page builder on Geocities (R.I.P.). Not long after had I created an entire network of different websites showcasing my favorite subject at the time: Anime. Yes, I was that nerdy, and still am. Laugh it up!

I did however eventually discover the limitations that came with using a drop-and-drop editor to build websites as I began to expose myself to much more elegantly designed websites. It was around this time I knew I had to learn Photoshop and how to write code if I truly wanted to make my sites as jaw-dropping as the sites that inspired me. Little did I know that this odd-ball hobby for a middle schooler to have would soon turn into a viable career option that I would feel so much passion for.

By the time I had applied to college, I already had a hefty portfolio of hand-coded websites that St. Edward’s found so impressive that they offered me a partial scholarship to attend the university. After I began my time at St. Edward’s, my father approached me with a proposition to help him redesign the Austin Songwriters Group website which was built on WordPress. At the time, I had only heard of WordPress but had yet to really get to know it. I had a basic knowledge of PHP at the time, but I was determined to absorb as much knowledge as I could and give ASG the website they deserved. I’ve been working with WordPress ever since and have developed dozens of custom themes for a variety of different clients.

Web design is more than just a day job. It’s an artistic medium.

In addition to developing websites, I have also developed a true love for visual art and design and have expanded to include brand styling, poster and CD artwork, logo design and much more into my repertoire of offered services.
